How to Join

There’s no reason to wait. Sign up now and start networking! When you’re one of us, you’ll have supportive colleagues and friends throughout the nation.

Just follow these simple steps:

1. Choose the membership level right for you:

  • Professional
Any communicator actively engaged in any aspect of communications for remuneration.

  • Student
Those enrolled full- or part-time in a college or university communications program or related field; and those working in the communications field who are enrolled in classes.

  • Retired
Professionals who have been an NFPW member in good standing for at least five years and no longer receive substantial remuneration for work in the communications field.

  • At-large
Those living in a state with no affiliate. At-large members pay only national dues in the professional, student or retired category, and may compete as an at-large entrant in the annual communications contest.

Option: Check our list of state affiliates and join one near you. You pay national and state dues, compete in the state’s communications contest and are eligible to participate in all affiliate activities.

  • Corporate
Those companies who wish to support employees’ membership in NFPW by signing up five members for the price of four. To qualify, five membership renewal/application forms must be submitted with a company check for four memberships.

2. Determine your dues total

Check the dues chart (.doc, pdf) and total NFPW, state and local chapter (Kansas only) dues. At-large members pay only national dues:

NFPW DUES:
Professional: $53
Student: $10
Retired: $20

The dues cycle is based on the calendar year. Those joining between April and August will receive a $20 coupon toward the following year's dues when they renew. Dues paid by those joining in September or later will cover the entire following year.

3. Complete and submit your application

You may submit your application with credit card information online through our secure site. Or you may print the application and mail with your check or pay by credit card. Credit card is the only form of payment accepted if application is faxed.

Please make your checks payable to National Federation of Press Women. We will relay appropriate dues to your state affiliate and any local chapter.
