Contest Judges Needed

NFPW seeks judges for our communications contests: to volunteer or to nominate someone, please fill out the NFPW Communications Contest Judge Nomination Form.

The National Federation of Press Women sponsors several annual competitions to honor excellence in communications:

  • NFPW Communications Contest encourages and rewards excellence in communications in a wide range of categories. Entries are judged by leaders in their fields of expertise. NFPW contest winners are honored at the NFPW Annual Communications Contest Awards Banquet at the organization's annual conference.
  • NFPW High School Communications Contest inspires students to do outstanding work in their quest for excellence. This highly-acclaimed competition judges entries at three levels. First-place winners at the state level go on to national judging. First-place winners at the national level go on to Best of the Best judging. There is only one winner at the Best of the Best level. Winners are announced on not only the NFPW website but also on the Dow Jones News Fund website.
  • Communicator of Achievement is the highest honor bestowed by NFPW upon members who have distinguished themselves within and beyond their profession. The recipient, chosen from nominees selected by state affiliates, is recognized for exceptional achievement in the communications field, service to NFPW and to the community.
