Pre-conference Tour #1: St. Louis History
Tuesday, June 18, 2024

Experience some of St. Louis’s incredible history on this tour. We’ll depart from our hotel and drive east to the Mississippi Riverfront and the Gateway Arch to see a short documentary and explore the museum underneath the monument. Next, we’ll head to the Busch Stadium’s Ballpark Village for a short tour of the St. Louis Baseball Hall of Fame. We will enjoy lunch in historic Lafayette Square, one of the city’s first neighborhoods, and end the day with a tour of the Cathedral Basilica St. Louis, which is known for its extraordinary collection of mosaics. We return to our hotel in time for dinner on your own.

Pre-conference Tour #2: St. Louis Culture

Forest Park is a true gem. Named America’s best city park in 2022 by USA Today, it is home to many of St. Louis’s cultural attractions. We will spend the morning at the Missouri History Museum for a docent-led tour of the recently refurbished World’s Fair gallery. Our next stop is the renowned Saint Louis Zoo. We’ll enjoy a boxed lunch on the patio of the Forest Park Boathouse Restaurant. It’s back on the motorcoach for a short drive to the Missouri Botanical Garden, once the country estate of Henry Shaw, 19th-century businessman and amateur botanist. We return to our hotel in time for dinner on your own.

St. Charles was the first state capital of Missouri and boasts a rich history that includes Lewis & Clark and Daniel Boone. We’ll depart our hotel and head to historic Main Street for a tour of the state capitol and see the Lewis & Clark Boathouse and Museum. After lunch at a Main Street restaurant, we’ll board the motorcoach to head to Augusta to experience Missouri Wine Country with a tour of an Augusta winery and sample wine before heading back to the hotel.
